Work Incentive Planning Assistance

Are you currently receiving cash benefits (SSDI or SSI) from Social Security and you are also interested in working?  Do you wonder what will happen to your cash benefits if you start working?  Do you ask yourself about how working may affect your Medicare or Medicaid benefits?  If you answered “Yes” to the above questions, we have the answers you are looking for.

The Work Incentives Planning and Assistance (WIPA) Project at the ILRC of NE Florida can help you find the answers to your questions.  Our certified benefits counselors can explain how your benefits will be affected based on the amount of monthly earnings you receive or plan to receive.  They can also explain how you can work and know what to expect regarding your Social Security benefits such as knowing “How much can I make and still receive my check?”  Work Incentives Counselors can also provide you with an individualized plan to help you make informed choices about employment and answer any questions you may have about SSA policies (also known as Work Incentives).

The Work Incentives Planning and Assistance Project at the ILRC of Northeast Florida is here to:

  • Promote employment
  • Inform you on how Social Security benefits are affected by employment
  • Increase your financial freedom
  • Enhance your self sufficiency by showing how you can manage your Social Security benefits.

To be eligible to receive services from the WIPA Program, you must be:

  • between the ages of 14 and 64
  • working or interested in working
  • a current beneficiary of Social Security Disability (SSDI) and/or (SSI)
  • a resident of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, St. Johns, Leon, Gadsden, Wakulla, Jackson, Jefferson, Hamilton, or Madison counties.

Call us today and so we can help ensure that you are comfortable with your financial future.
