Individuals with
Disabilities Education Act
Formerly called P.L. 94-142 or the
Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975, this law required
public schools to make available to all eligible children with
disabilities a free appropriate public education in the least
restrictive environment appropriate to their individual needs. Learn
what the law specifically states, what accommodations should be made in
regarding different types of disabilities, how to develop appropriate
Individualized Education Plans (IEP), how to modify lessons, where to
locate resources for providing various types of accommodations, and how
to motivate parents and students to become better advocates.
Participants of this workshop will become more knowledgeable of IDEA
through the use of videos, instruction, handouts, and open discussion.
